Communications Audit and Branding

We developed an in-depth report, brand platform and communications audit based on research, focus groups, interviews and meetings with key stakeholders for University of Maryland’s Social Work Community Outreach Service (SWCOS).

Social Work Community Outreach Service (SWCOS) at the University of Maryland is an innovative organization that’s reinventing urban social work. SWCOS’s unique program educates students, trains them in the field and inspires the next generation of change agents. The program conducts leading edge practice, and works to level the playing field between Baltimore haves and have-nots.

During the second and third quarters of 2011, Better Brand Story and Brooke Hall Creative led a brand building initiative and communications audit to clarify and activate the Social Work Community Outreach Service (SWCOS) brand. The goal is to elevate its story, assess its current communications, and provide recommendations for an innovative communications plan that will enable the SWCOS story to be communicated across a variety of integrated media.

We undertook an investigative study of the SWCOS brand and its position in the current landscape with the purpose of creating a Brand Platform that helps to convert the elevated SWCOS story into executable communications campaigns as well as provides a messaging toolkit for all key players.
